Hi there. Nice to meet you!

I’M EMILY! This is 7-year-old me at my very first skating competition. Welcome to my corner of the web where I hope to educate, inspire, and instill an eternal love of skating. Along the way, we will create a lifetime of cherished memories together.

Besides skating and writing, my other passion is indulging in all things food, which is always a challenge as a skater!

Every spring, I organize and lead a skating charity event to support the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation's Sk8 To Elimin8 Cancer fundraiser.  I find this to be the most productive and meaningful opportunity as I can play a part in the fight against cancer and help make a difference with my passion for skating. I am challenging myself to skate a frozen 5K to raise money to help fight cancer.

Scott Hamilton is one of THE most inspiring and talented Olympic athletes. Many of you may not know that Hamilton was adopted when he was six weeks old. He has experienced much of life’s ups and downs- plagued by a childhood disease that stunted his growth to the distinctive honor of winning Olympic gold and later battled with testicular cancer which was treated and cured only to be then diagnosed with a benign pituitary brain tumor on three separate occasions. He also lost his mother to a 2-year battle with breast cancer. Just like his signature back flip move, Hamilton wants to ‘Turn Cancer Upside Down’ .

Please help support me in this worthy cause by contributing and helping me raise as much money as I can. Your donation will go towards cancer research, prevention, and treatment, and will be in loving memory of my grandmother who lost her battle with gall bladder cancer three years ago. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had in skating and I am giving back by donating my earnings from skating to this charity. So far with the help from my school and skating friends, I’ve raised $10,475 to help fund clinical trials and research. Together, we can make a difference.

Leslie and Charles are my new friends who skate at the Codey Arena rink in West Orange, NJ where I also train. I was so impressed with their earnest desire and unequivocal commitment to figure skating that I wanted others to learn about their story. Leslie and Charles are two inspiring individuals who we all can admire - they follow their passions and show us that age isn’t a limit.
