Leslie and Charles are my friends who skate at the Codey Arena rink in West Orange, NJ where I also train. Leslie and Charles are two inspiring individuals who we all can admire - they follow their passions and show us that age isn’t a limit. I was so impressed with their earnest desire and unequivocal commitment to figure skating that I wanted others to learn about their story.
Every spring, I organize and lead a skating charity event to support the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation's Sk8 To Elimin8 Cancer fundraiser. I find this to be the most productive and meaningful opportunity as I can play a part in the fight against cancer and help make a difference with my passion for skating. I am challenging myself to skate a frozen 5K to raise money to help fight cancer.
Please help support me in this worthy cause by contributing and helping me raise as much money as I can. Your donation will go towards cancer research, prevention, and treatment, and will be in loving memory of my grandmother who lost her battle with gall bladder cancer three years ago. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had in skating and I am giving back by donating my earnings from skating to this charity. So far with the help from my school and skating friends, I’ve raised $11,600 to date to fund clinical trials and research. Together, we can make a difference.
